Although a trained engineer, Andrew began freelance motorsports journalism at the age of 17. He joined the staff of Motoring News at 21 and spent most of his 20’s covering the Formula 1 Grand Prix scene and helping the circulation triple under the initials A.R.M.
In 1973, together with the late Barrie Gill and Michael Tee he formed CSS Promotions Ltd.
During the space of 30 years, CSS became one of Europe’s major sports PR and marketing agencies. Andrew instigated and ran many successful campaigns for such companies as John Player, Marlboro, Canon, Autoglass and Texaco.
He worked closely with a number of World Champions, including Mario Andretti, James Hunt, Barry Sheene, Nigel Mansell and Mike Hailwood.
A parallel career as a broadcaster saw him work for ITV, CBS Sports, SABC and many others. That career continues to this day and he is frequently heard on Sky Sports, the Speed Channel and many other outlets.
Following the acquisition of CSS by Stellar Management in 2000, Andrew continued with the group until 31st December 2004.
In the ‘70’s Andrew enjoyed success as a rally co-driver, winning events in the UK and South Africa.
Andrew is an associate member of the British Racing Drivers Club and a member of the Guild of Motoring Writers and the mysterious Ecurie Cod Filet.
