Pit Lane founder Andrew Marriott commenced his motorsports career as a journalist and is still to be found pounding the word processor when he is not holding a microphone.

In 2011 Andrew edited and also provided additional material for Driven by Desire - Alan Wilson's book about his wife Desire Wilson, published by Veloce Press.

Andrew also contributes to the BRDC Bulletin and his articles written in a humorous vein about his experiences over the years have been appreciated by the members including Murray Walker. He is promising to combine them and other stories into an autobiography in the near future.

Over the years Andrew has written for everything from the Sun and the Daily Express where he was variously the Formula 1 and Motorcycle correspondent - to Motor Sport and Autosport magazines. He still contributes occasionally to the latter two publications. Andrew is also now contributing regular Formula 1 articles to the leading Chinese website www.163.com.
