Pit Lane Productions’ Ben Constanduros is starting his 2008 season with a major adventure. He is to report on the Euromilhoes Lisboa - Dakar Rally 2008 for the ASO, the organisers of the event and will script and voice the commentary for the host feed’s daily International programme, which is sent to 26 countries including USA, South Africa and Australia.
Ben is following in the footsteps of his father Bob Constanduros who is the English voice of Grand Prix racing around the World. Indeed Bob covered the Dakar, in the days when it started from under the Eifel Tower, some 15 years ago.
Commented 21 year old Ben , “ This is going to be a mind blowing experience for me travelling down the route as part of the host broadcasting team. It will be 3 weeks hard work but from what I understand it is a little bit more civilised than when Dad did it all those years ago."
“I am looking forward to the big battle between Mitsubishi and Volkswagen as well seeing ‘the struggle’ that all the guys on the bikes and the Trucks put themselves through. It’s the 30th year of the Dakar which makes it a little bit special."
“I have to say that working for Pit Lane has been an amazing experience in this past year, the trip to Willow Springs in California for World Motorsports was one of many highlights which also included hosting such events as the TV Kartmasters and the Silverstone 24 Hours. Now 2008 is going to start off brilliantly”
Pit Lane Productions not only produces TV programming, but also provides commentary services for such programmes as the DTM, Nurburgring 24 Hours and most recently the East African Safari Classic Rally.
