The core of the Pit Lane Productions Ltd’s business has been the production of motorsports television programming.

Pit Lane Productions also provides TV presentation and commentary services and an extensive archive including Formula 1 material. An Edit Suite is available to digitise all material held on tapes of any format. In addition Pit Lane Productions and staff have extensive knowledge of arranging and operating outside broadcasts of sporting events in both the UK and Europe.

We are able to provide a cameraman with or without our own HD camera at very competitive rates. Recent clients have included NASCAR Productions, Lingner Group Productions from the USA, Wheelin' Round the World from Australia, Marty Snider Associates (Charlotte, NC) and Robert Dalrymple Productions ( Hollywood, Ca ).

TV Productions

The core of the Pit Lane Productions Ltd’s business is the production of motorsports related television programming.

For ten years Pit Lane’s “signature” programme was World Motorsports, a 100-minute weekly show airing on prime time Sky Sports. The programme covered International racing, National racing and International rallying. It featured such major series as the DTM, the F3 Euro series, America’s Star Mazda series, the European Rally and Rallycross Championship, as well as Formula 1 news.

Pit Lane has also produced the live studio shows for the Indycar series for Sky Sports including over ten Indy 500s and several Daytona 500s.

Over the years Pit Lane has produced a number of “fly on the wall” documentaries covering a such topics as a father and son team in the British Touring Car Championship and two documentaries featuring the United Autosports team at Le Mans.

Promotional films for commercial clients have embraced everything from a race car fuelling system to a caravan dent repair service. Years ago we even made a film for Noel Edmonds about “Blobbyland”. Add to that, features about a chocolate company’s sponsorship of a kids pantomime competition, the Sunday Times Sports Woman of the Year awards and even a Football Five-a-side competition on Hackney Marshes. Pit Lane isn’t only about motor sport.

We’ve covered almost every other genre of motor sport including the British National Rally Championship, European Late Model Stock Car series, the World Hot Rod Finals, Autograss racing and the Formula 3 Euroseries.

Our long running Mowlem’s Racing Travels , featuring sportscar ace Johnny Mowlem ran over six series on Sky Sports.

TV Commentary

For many years Pit Lane Productions has provided both studio and on-site TV presentation and commentary services for a number major championships which have included the DTM, the Volkswagen Scirocco Cup, Dakar Rally and Le Mans.

Andrew Marriott has been a regular pit lane reporter for Fox Sports in the States , working on the Le Mans 24 Hours, Daytona 24 Hours, Sebring 12 Hrs and Petit Le Mans sportscar races. Other assignments have included WEC races, the Silverstone Classic, the Monaco Historic Grand Prix, the Daytona 24 Classic as well as a number of rounds of the Creventic 24 hr series.In 2025 Andrew was the anchor commentator for the Peter Auto Historic series.

For over ten years, until 2014, Andrew was the voice of the DTM and F3 Euroseries. Andrew has worked alongside the like of the late Murray Walker and is also proud to have mentored the careers of such motorsport professionals as NBC Sports’ Leigh Diffey, the Motorsport Network’s James Allen and WRC reporter Ben Constanduros amongst others.

We have excellent contacts with a number of the top US commentators including Greg Creamer, Calvin Fish, (2nd down from top right with Andrew), Brian Till and Bob Varsha.

Pit Lane can also provide voice overs for videos, commercials, as well as presenters for corporate events and public address.

Outside Broadcasts

Pit Lane Productions staff have extensive knowledge of arranging and operating outside broadcasts of sporting events in both the UK and Europe.

We have arranged multi-camera OB’s for such events as The Hackney Marshes 5-A-Side Football, International Sportscar races at Brands Hatch, Donington Park and Silverstone, as well as events in the Czech Republic, Spain, France, Portugal and Italy.

We have specific knowledge of working with US equipment and personnel.

Our “contact book” contains top Directors, camera personnel, graphics, EVS operators and PAs, all of whom have worked with us over the years.
